Jay-Z Partners up with NBA2K13

The fact that Jay-Z is producing is not a surprise. The fact it is for NBA2K13 just might be.

For the video game the entertainment superstar and part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets is partnering with 2K sports.

" 'NBA 2K13' will be the next evolution in sports and basketball culture, and I'm ready to usher in the new era of the franchise," he said in a statement.

Larry Frum of CNN reports that Jay-Z will have input into the music, crowd reactions and in-game menus.
Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports, said the soundtrack (picked by Jay-Z) will include U2, Puff Daddy, Coldplay, Kanye West and music from Jay-Z.

The game will be released in October.
